Blender’s ability to focus on a mesh and stay focused on the mesh is about as reliable as MY focus on Blender. Thank you for the advice! I appreciate it! I’m still sort of banging into the walls to figure out where stuff is.

When the mesh is acting weird the #1 culprit is usually wacky scale. Ctrl-A to apply scale (freeze transforms in Maya).

Because I keep running into this lately: If the view starts acting weird hit numpad period to recenter the view on the selected object/face/vert.

Of all the stuff in Blender to learn these are the two frustrating things I seem to run into every.single.day…even after years of tinkering.
